I have strong visual, illustration, and aesthetics design and a passion for exploring technology and strive to solve human needs by creating empowering and inclusive experiences.
Baltimore’s contribution to the COGRID-19 project is a collaboration with the graduate program at MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art) lead by Rebecca Bradley (Program Director MA Illustration) and Sandie Maxa (Program Director MA Graphic Design.)
COGRID-19 is a series of risograph prints created to raise money for those most affected by the pandemic. The project brings together 19 artists from a city, each contributing to a shared grid. The collected works are a commentary on the public health crisis and the racial, political and environmental issues that have overtaken our country. Every penny raised will be donated to worthy organizations leading the efforts to help those in need.
I created a strong personal aesthetic illustration on the top-left grid for the poster CO-GRID Baltimore, which is available on cogrid19.com, every penny raised by the sale of the Baltimore grids will go to The Black Mental Health Alliance. I conducted eight unique draft sketches and developed three of them into a 3-color-base risograph printing draft, in the end, the A COVID-19 party was voted to be a favorite top illustration for the Baltimore grid.

A COVID-19 party (also called coronavirus party, corona party, and lockdown party) is a gathering held with the intention of catching or spreading COVID-19. A number of news reports in the United States have suggested that parties have occurred with this intention early in the pandemic.

The District's premier (and only) magic supply store, illusionarium, and de-lux haberdashery is also the official storefront for local nonprofit 826DC. 100% of your purchase supports 826DC's free writing programs for DC students ages 6-18. Extraordinary!
Nearly half (43%) of 4th and 8th-grade students in DC fail to meet grade-level expectations for writing.
This project is an interdisciplinary collaboration with facilitators of non-profit organizations 826DC, professional graphic designers, and illustrators to celebrate the writing story of children. The community partner 826DC is dedicated to supporting students ages 6-18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. To value and celebrate the writing of children, the team created visual art and illustrations for each 826DC field trip story. I advocated a creative illustration named the Missing Candy, package design for the series products Performance enhancers, and the series school bus packaging design for all zines.

Mood Board
The mood board is the first port of call for any big project. More than just a collection of engaging pictures, mood boards serve as a fundamental transition between an initial thought and a first draft. It is more beneficial to think of mood boarding as visual organizing.
My inspiration is to combine imaginative + playful + joyful through a young + edgy + energetic color palette. Designed common typography for all Performance Enhancers labels as well as branding information & product logo and created a playful illustration for each Performance Enhancers Title: Sleight of Hand, Pizazz, Stage Fright Antidote, Showmanship, and Distraction.

We learned that design principles are key reminders to guide the design process and should be informed by research. Some ideas we brainstormed included: listen to people’s COVID stories and honoring their lived experiences, acknowledge that people’s anxieties & concerns are often informed by historical and social context, approach with empathy, design with and not for ambassadors, and validate the successes of the ambassadors.
